Are there any Linux Docking Window managers? (Not a Dock/Launcher)

Recently I have been working in many applications that use "Dock-able panes".
This is commonly seen in IDE's such as Eclipse and Visual Studio where
dragging a pane can "Dock" it and create a draggable bar for quick
resizing.
I also work with workspaces and like to have up to 9 workspaces at any 1
time for different terminals, text editors, designers and folder managers.
The question is, is there a Linux (Ubuntu) window manager that can allow
for all regular windows to behave in this fashion?
Speed is much more important than eye-candy.
I currently use openbox and so don't mind spending a couple of hours
customizing to get things perfect.
Thank you.
